Possible risk of suffocation from additives

Some foodstuffs contain gelling additives, which make the products more solid and can therefore cause choking, particularly in children. The risk of choking lies mainly in the size, shape and firm consistency of these foodstuffs. This is often the case with jelly confectionery.
