The European Commission has launched a call for expressions of interest for the position of representatives of the environmental non-governmental organisations in the EFSA Management Board.

The resignation of the representatives of the environmental non-governmental organisations created two vacancies: one for a member and one for an alternate member. This call will result in a Commission list of candidates from which the Council, in consultation with the European Parliament, will appoint one member and one alternate member from environmental non-governmental organisations.

The members and the alternate members of the Management Board shall be nominated and appointed on the basis of their relevant experience and expertise in the field of food chain law and policy, including risk assessment, whilst ensuring that there is relevant expertise in the fields of managerial, administrative, financial and legal matters within the Management Board.  

They will be appointed for the remaining period of the current EFSA Management Board mandate, i.e. until 30 June 2026. The online application and more information are available at the following link: efsa-management-board-2023 (europa.eu)
