Beauvericin

Beauvericin is a natural bioactive compound produced by fungi of the genus Fusarium. On one hand, the particular characteristics of its molecule give beauvericin interesting properties, such as antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic, insecticidal and anticarcinogenic activities. On the other hand, it is a natural contaminant of food and feed, and an emerging mycotoxin without a toxicological risk assessment for long-term exposure.
