Ochratoxin A
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin produced by certain molds of the Penicillium and Aspergillus genera. It can be found in various foods, such as cereals, coffee, rice, spices, fresh and dried fruits, as well as in grape juice and wines. With repeated consumption, ochratoxin A can be carcinogenic and may have toxic effects on the kidneys. OTA is considered genotoxic.
