Tenuazonic acid
Tenuazonic acid is one of the Alternaria toxins, mycotoxins produced mainly by the fungi Alternaria alternata and Alternaria solani. These fungi are the main contaminants of wheat, sorghum and barley, and their presence has also been reported in oilseeds such as sunflower and rapeseed, tomatoes, apples, citrus fruits, olives and several other fruits and vegetables.
